Sarah Winchester lost her child and her husband, and, alone in the world and feeling guilty for being the heir to the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, sought out a psychic. The psychic told Sarah that she was haunted by the spirits of those killed by Winchester rifles. Sarah needed to build a home for them–and never stop building. Ever.

Construction began in 1884 and never stopped, 24-7, until Sarah’s death on September 5, 1922. She held a seance every night in a special room that only she was allowed to enter.

So many 13s throughout the house. Everywhere.

Happy Dollopween! Welcome to the party!
